Proud of their Pumpkin!

Monday we all went to a local farm and pumpkin patch on a field trip. The kids had a great time seeing lots of animals, going on a hayride, and picking out pumpkins. Brent gave his pumpkin to his teacher, which he adores. She and I were both afraid that once we got ready to do something with the pumpkins that he would get upset. But, he really wanted her to have it. Anyway, Anna Kathryn shared her pumpkin and each one painted one side. They decided they wanted to paint instead of carve their pumpkin this year. As you can see, they are very proud of it. They did a great job.

Grandma's 90th Birthday!

Kathryn, with her son John Michael, and daughter Kolby.
Kolby and Evans, my neice and nephew.

Happy 90th Birthday Grandma!

Here are a few pictures from my Grandmother's 90th Birthday! Please don't tell her she is on the internet, she will be worried sick. I thought it was a beautiful picture and she is actually smiling for the camera which is a rarity. She is a beautiful woman and this weekend reminded me how lucky we all are to have her in our lives. She has 6 kids, 18 grandkids, and 12 great grandkids. I think that is right. It was great to see so much of the family.

Anna Kathryn reading to Brent

Anna Kathryn and Brent both love to read. Here is a clip of Anna Kathryn reading to Brent.

Brent Singing at Grandparent's Day

This is Brent singing at Grandparent's Day. Looking at the video he is just to the right of the teacher. I think he did a spectacular job, but then again I might be a little biased.

Working Hard

Hershel took the kids to pick up cans to make some money. They were very eager to go but this is what they looked like when they got back home. I thought it was pretty cute.

A Fun Day!

This was at a local farm. They were having a fundraiser for our local disaster response team. They had a great time.

I canned

You might be thinking what in the world is she talking about. Well, I did it, I cannned pear perserves that I made. We had a ton of pears on our tree. We have neglected our tree this year because in the past it had not done well. This year it did great and the pears are really good. I made a fresh pear cake which was yummy. I did not want the rest to go bad so I decided to try to make perserves and then I canned them. They actually turned out really good. I had to laugh at myself when I got excited when the cans popped after being removed from the water I was so excited. I am still trying to figure out my mixed emotions over canning. I am proud and embarrassed at the same time.

I did not take a picture of me canning however, I thought this was adorable of Brent. Don't worry, it was taken at the science center.

First Day of Dance Class

This is Anna Kathryn's first day of dance this year. She is excited because she will be able to be in the recital this year. She has lots of her friends from last year in her class.

Amazing Grace

Anna Kathryn and Brent and their cousins August and Charles Garrett sang in church July 27, 2008. They did a great job. I could not believe that no one jumped off the stage or ran down the isle. I was so proud.

The kids have started a new school. They love it! Anna Kathryn goes 4 mornings and Brent 3 mornings. It is nice because I have some one-on-one time with both of them.
